FERS pension calculator

Use this FERS pension calculator to estimate a standard federal basic annuity from your high-3 salary, creditable service and retirement age. See annual and monthly amounts before reductions and deductions.

Your scenario

Method and limitations

Annual amount = high-3 basic salary × creditable years and whole months × standard accrual factor. The factor is 1.1% for age 62 or older with at least 20 entered whole years; otherwise 1%. This is a base amount, not a payable annuity. No MRA plus 10 reduction, eligibility decision, part-time adjustment, disability, special category or CSRS component is included.

How to estimate your FERS basic pension

Your federal pension is one part of retirement income alongside Social Security and any TSP savings. Start with confirmed basic pay and creditable service, then check eligibility separately. This calculator displays the base annuity; the amount you actually receive can be lower.

Worked example

With a $95,000 high-3 salary, 25 years of service and separation at age 62, the standard 1.1% factor gives $26,125 annually, or about $2,177.08 monthly before adjustments.
