UK pension pot growth

Project a UK pension pot using gross monthly additions, growth assumptions, fees and inflation. Include employee, employer and any applicable tax-relief additions in the amount invested.

Your scenario

Method and limitations

Net annual growth factor = (1 + annual return) × (1 − annual asset fee). Convert this effective factor to a monthly rate. Add the combined contribution at each month end. Today’s-money values divide by cumulative assumed inflation. Contributions stay flat in nominal terms. Returns are constant scenarios, not forecasts; no tax, contribution room or benefit eligibility is calculated.

This tool uses arithmetic scenario assumptions rather than a statutory pension formula.

Estimate future pension pot purchasing power

Check how your scheme records contributions before entering a monthly total. Salary sacrifice, net pay and relief at source work differently. This projection does not calculate tax relief, annual allowances or a guaranteed retirement income.

Worked example

With GBP 1,000 already invested and GBP 100 added monthly, a zero-return, zero-fee scenario ends at GBP 2,200 after one year.

Questions about this calculator

Should monthly contributions include the employer amount?

Yes. Enter the total actually added to the pot, including applicable employer additions and tax relief.

Is the result an annuity quotation?

No. A pension pot balance is different from an income quotation.
